Junior Amateur Golf Scholars “JAGS”, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit for public benefit organization was established in the year 2000 as a nationally ranked junior golf tour by John and Cindy Warren. Their goal was to help talented junior golfers show case their game in highly competitive junior golf tournaments to college coaches for an opportunity to play collegiate golf after graduating high school.

For over 14 years, Cindy and John organized and ran monthly 36 and 54 hole nationally ranked junior golf tournaments on weekends, school holidays and during the summer months serving over 5,000 junior golfers with all net proceeds donated back for college scholarships, golf equipment, golf lessons, golf camps, entry fees and travel/hotel expenses. Just two people giving back to help young adults have an opportunity to attend college and play collegiate golf regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

In 2013, Mr. Warren was diagnosed with Lung Cancer from Agent Orange exposure when he served as a US Navy Lt., River Boat Commander, Div. 543 in Vietnam. Mr. Warren lost his courageous battle on Thanksgiving Day in 2014, leaving his wife (Cindy) and son (Kyle) to continue his legacy through JAGS

In early 2015, JAGS re-organized with a new purpose in JAGS Gives Back, hosting a yearly charity golf tournament in Murrieta, California honoring his memory with all net proceeds donated back through the yearly JAGS Giving Back Campaign to make a positive and uplifting difference in the lives of Active Military (deployed/stateside) and Veteran Families, First Responders, Cancer Support and Research Programs, Underserved Kids and Young Adults, Teachers, Special Needs Children and Adults, Single Parents, Victims of Domestic Violence, and other accredited non-profit organizations serving the needs of the community.
